The Pandoteira project participated at this year’s “Shooting, Hunting and Wildlife Conservation Exhibition”, which took place between September 29th and October 1st, 2023, at the Cyprus State Fair grounds.
Members of our team were at the Pandoteira stand with the purpose of informing hunters about the ecological value and the socioeconomic benefits of the Natura 2000 network, all in relation to hunting. This information was conveyed through a quiz, which focused on how the Natura 2000 network helps boost hunting, as well as on the results of the use of rodenticides for wildlife and humans.
During this three-day exhibition our team had the opportunity to interact with over 200 hunters from all districts of Cyprus. Through this contact we are now in a position to continue a direct communication with this stakeholder group, in order to achieve their understanding of the importance of the Natura 2000 network and aim for their acceptance.
This action is led by Terra Cypria-The Cyprus Conservation Foundation, which is the lead partner of Action E2.1: “Set up awareness-raising and information activities for targeted stakeholders”, Task 2: “Information activities for targeted stakeholder groups”.
