The “Pandoteira” project team, together with the Kouklia Local Authority, are organizing a presentation titled: “Natura 2000: Generating awareness among stakeholders”.
The presentation will take place on Tuesday March 29th, 2022, at the Kouklia Cultural Centre, at 17:00. All members of the local community, as well as the surrounding communities, are invited to participate.
Purpose of this presentation
The purpose of this presentation is to:
- Inform the members of the Local Authorities, as well as the local population, about the “Pandoteira” project and what actions are scheduled to take place within their area.
- Generate awareness concerning the importance of the Natura 2000 network.
- Clarify the difference between Natura 2000 zones and the Water protection zones for rivers and water reservoirs.

The presentation will be led by Terra Cypria-the Cyprus Conservation Foundation, which is the lead partner of Action E2.1: “Set up awareness-raising and information activities for targeted stakeholders” and Task 1: “Systematically inform the stakeholders on the progress made by the project”.
In addition, the Water Development Department will make an introductory presentation concerning the Water Reservoirs and River Protection Zones. More specifically, the presentation will focus on their importance and how these zones are on some occasions intertwined with Natura 2000 areas.
