Τα εγκαταλελειμμένα, χαμένα ή απορριφθέντα αλιευτικά εργαλεία είναι κυρίως δίχτυα, τα οποία χάνονται στη θάλασσα. Οι λόγοι για αυτήν την απώλεια ποικίλλουν, από ατυχήματα, καταιγίδες και εμπλοκή σε εσκεμμένη εγκατάλειψη.
