Join the Pandoteira project for an afternoon of birdwatching and a guided tour of the archaeological site of Nea Paphos!
Saturday, 31 October 2026
14:30 – 17:00
We will start with a guided tour of the Nea Paphos Archaeological Site to explore the area’s rich history (14:30 – 15:45). We’ll visit the House of Theseus, the House of Dionysos and the Odeon. Entry to the site is free for those who register for the event.
Then walk with us along the Paphos seafront promenade. We’ll watch the stunning sunset while looking out for the Greater sand plover and other bird species that either live here year-round or stop by during migration (15:45 – 17:00).
This event is a chance to discover a unique place where wildlife and world heritage monuments coexist. It will be held in Greek only and it is suitable for adults and children aged 10 and over.

About the Area
In the heart of Paphos lies the Faros Kato Pafou area, a protected site within the Natura 2000 Network that is home to important plant and bird species. It is one of the most important places for the Greater sand plover, as Cyprus is one of the few countries in Europe where the species can be found.
The event will be led by members of the Pandoteira project team from Terra Cypria and BirdLife Cyprus, under the auspices of Paphos Municipality.
