The Pandoteira project invites you to an evening nature walk at Agios Sozomenos, just outside Nicosia.
25/09/2026
17:45 – 19:30
While taking in the breathtaking sunset, we will observe little owls. If we’re lucky, we may even spot some bats!
During our short walk, you will also learn about the artificial nests we have installed in the area, as well as our other conservation and nature protection actions.

Why visit Agios Sozomenos?
Just 20 kilometres south of Nicosia, where the rivers Gialias and Alykos join waters, lies a landscape of exceptional natural beauty. Set against the backdrop of the abandoned village of Agios Sozomenos, an impressive ecosystem unfolds, where rugged cliffs embrace a rich biodiversity. It is a place where nature and history coexist in harmony, creating a captivating setting.
The area is part of the Natura 2000 network and you can find out more about it following this link.
The event will be led by members of the Pandoteira project team from Terra Cypria and BirdLife Cyprus.
