Members of the Pandoteira project team had the opportunity to participate at a LIFE Networking event organized by the LIFE Cyclamen project. The event was held in the form of:
- A live streaming experience sharing event, on Wednesday November 3rd 2021
- Bilateral virtual meetings (from November 3rd until December 10th, 2021)
- An on-site networking event, on Thursday November 11th 2021, in Nicosia, Cyprus
During the live streaming experience sharing event we learned from the experience of the guest speakers, who came from the projects: NATURE 4 CITY LIFE (Region Sud – Provence, Alpes, Côte d’Azur), LIFE IP 4 NATURA (Green Fund, Greece), LIFE MEDEA (University of Cyprus Medical School) and LIFE NATURA THEMIS (Natural History Museum of Crete). We were also able to benefit from the year-long experience of the LIFE National Contact Points of Greece, Italy and Spain.
The topics touched upon, which were of particular interest to the Pandoteira project, were:
- Policy uptake
- After LIFE
- Sustainability
- Nature conservation and biodiversity
At the on-site networking event public and private stakeholders, from Cyprus and abroad, had the opportunity to mingle and discuss with professionals from various sectors and explore the potential of future LIFE collaborations. What was particularly useful for us was that we were able to share thoughts, challenges and achievements with other LIFE beneficiaries and exchange some useful insights.
All in all, this was an amazing networking opportunity for the Pandoteira project, as it gathered over 100 participants from 19 countries. It helped us introduce our project to other LIFE beneficiaries and engage in fruitful dialogue with experts of different backgrounds.
