The Pandoteira project visited Paramali and Kalopanayiotis

Members of the Pandoteira project team from Terra Cypria hosted informational presentations in Paramali and Kalopanayiotis. The purpose of the presentations was to inform the members of the two local communities – as well as neighbouring communities – about the Pandoteira project, the project’s actions and what actions are scheduled to take place within the Natura 2000 network in their area.

Our first stop was Paramali on January 12th, 2023. Members of the local community, as well as members of neighouring communities, had the opportunity to pose their questions related to protected species and the Natura 2000 areas that surround their communities. The participants showed particular interest in the designation of Special Protection Areas and Special Areas of Conservation. In addition, a fruitful discussion evolved about the management plan of these areas.

Our second stop was at the Kalopanayiotis Christmas village on January 15th, 2023. Members of our team got to present the importance of the Natura 2000 network to the locals, the members of the Local Authority, as well as to visitors who came to the Christmas village from different parts of the island. The participants were also informed about the Pandoteira project, its actions and the various events to be organised within the framework of the project.
