Under the framework of the Information and Awareness activities of the Pandoteira project, members of our consortium are carrying out educational and informative activities, specifically designed for pupils.
In more detail, the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research offered educational activities with the aim of informing children about marine life and Marine Protected Areas. These educational activities were delivered in groups of pupils at the following schools:
- Agios Dometions 1st Primary School (May 25th),
- Makedonitissa 3rd Primary School (May 30th),
- Hadjigeorgakis Kornesios Primary School (June 1st and 14th),
- Agios Athanasios 2nd Primary School in Limassol (June 10th).
In addition, Frederick University presented the Natura 2000 network and its importance for the protection of Cypriot biodiversity at the Oroklini Primary School, on May 5th, 2022.
Both children and teachers welcomed these educational activities with enthusiasm and we intend to continue our visits to schools with the commencement of the following academic year.
